Rhode Island Transition Academy @ RWU

Carolyn Aspinwall, M.A.C. is currently the Director of the Rhode Island Transition Academy at RWU. She has worked for the Collaborative for over 24 years serving in several roles including the East Bay Regional Transition Coordinator and Director of Special Services. She received her Masters  Degree in Counseling from RI College in 1989 and her undergraduate degree in Psychology from RI College in 1985. She has worked as a Clinical Therapist with both youth and adults having mental Illness and/or physical disabilities.  She possesses Certification as a Vocational Evaluator from Assumption College as well as Management/Leader Certification from Roger Williams University. While at the Collaborative she has created several programs serving young adults with disabilities including Vocational Services, Assistive Technology and the RI Transition Academies at Roger Williams University. Carolyn currently oversees The RI Transition Academy at Roger Williams University, staff and services.

Darnell MacDonald is currently the Program Coordinator for the Connections Program located at the Rhode Island Transition Academy at RWU. Darnell started the program in June of 2014. She has worked in the human service field for the past 27 years, 18 of which she has managed a residential home for adults with disabilities. She has worked closely with families and employers to help young adults to achieve their goals.
